Meet Me In St. Louis is Messed Up

I just watched this movie again and hadn't seen it since I was a kid. This is the movie that the famous "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" song comes from. Well I don't know if you have seen this movie but it is kind of disturbing. The family is very well to do, they are told that they will have to move to New York and be even wealthier. Well you might have told them they were all going to die in two months the way they reacted. The youngest daughter tootie is very strange. She burys her dolls in the graveyard, and she makes a trolley crash by throwing a dummy in the road in front of it. Whaaaaa??? A very disturbing scene is on Halloween all the small children are running wild in the streets setting a huge bon fire of chairs and household objects??? Did things like this actually happen? You should see how upset Judy Garland gets when she can't go to a dance because her boyfriend forgot to get his Tux from the tailor... So she gets cheered up because her Grandpa takes her... I don't know, something just seem so shallow and wrong. I guess it was a different time....
